<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of obtaining an image of stable picture quality and high fixability by minimizing changes in the volume and area of a fixed toner image due to the temperature rise of a transfer material which is a defect in a contact fixing method using heat fixing. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method using a fixing device provided with a fixed rotor 1 and a pressure rotor 6 and constituted of holding and carrying a recording medium 4 to which an unfixed toner image is transferred by a nip part formed between both the rotors 1, 6 and thermally fixing the toner image 3 in the recording medium 4 by heating using a heating means 2 built in at least either one of the rotors 1, 6, toner capable of reducing the volume change rate Vt of the toner image 3 formed on the recording medium 4 to≤30% and reducing the area change rate St of the toner image to≤20% is used and rapid cooling devices 10, 11 for quickly cooling the recording medium 4 and the toner after discharging the recording medium 4 from the fixing nip part of the fixing device are installed, so that an image of stable picture quality and high fixability can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
