A battery back system which enables the restriction of output during a short-time discharge and long-time discharge of a secondary battery to discriminate the use of both output restrictions according to requests from a vehicle. This system is provided with an output restricting section (104) for changing the restriction value of the output power of a secondary battery when voltage data V (n) from a voltage metering section (102) reaches a predetermined discharge end voltage. The output restricting section (104) has short-time output information (Pp) for discharging the second battery for a short time and normal output information (pn) for discharging the secondary battery for a long time and sets a first discharge end voltage (V1) during the short-time discharge lower than a second discharge end voltage (V2) during the long-time discharge.
