An assembly (2) treats a suspension (1) of municipal and industrial liquid effluent with the assistance of electrical fields from an electrode lattice (5, 6) spread along a treatment passage. The electrodes repel particles of the same polarity, causing them to accumulate on electrodes of opposite polarity, allowing the fluid (7) to be discharged from the passage in cleaner condition.
