<p>A materials management system (10) and method comprising a remote operation system for coordination of the materials management system (FIG. 2), and at least one receiving station (100) for transmitting attributes to the remote operation center (110) and for receiving updated attributes from the remote operation center (110). The method comprises the steps of: scanning an inventoried item upon entry into the materials management system at a first local receiving station, scanning the inventoried item at a secondary receiving station prior to delivery of the item, scanning the inventoried item at a tertiary receiving station upon delivery of the item, and reconciling placement of the item at the secondary receiving station and the tertiary receiving station at the remote operation center.</p> |
