A fastener assembly (10; 110; 210; 310; 410; 510; 610; 710; 810; 910) for use with a power actuated gun having a plurality of extending portions or grooves (18; 118; 218; 313; 418; 518; 618; 718; 818; 918) extending from a bearing surface. The extending portion or grooves extending from a bearing leg (16; 116; 216; 316; 416; 516; 616; 716; 816; 916) of a power actuated fastener aid in preventing rotation of the fastener assembly. Additionally, in another embodiment utilizing a raised portion, the raised portion aids in the collapse of the raised portion so as to permit the fastener assembly to form a more complete contact with a substrate. In another embodiment of the present invention, the extending portions or grooves are utilized to aid the feeding of a plurality of loose fastener assemblies in a track (434) of a power actuated gun feeding sxstem. The present invention provides an improved fastener assembly for use in construction. |
