IMMOBILIZED CATALYST FOR HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSIS

The invention concerns a catalyst immobilized on silica for heterogeneous catalysis, in the form of silica particles of average grain size distribution ranging between 15 mu m and 2 mm comprising a ligand bound to the particles by a covalent Si-C bond. The silica particles have preferably a BET specific surface area greater than 50 m2/g, and the ligand preferably further comprises a complexed metal. The invention also concerns a method for preparing the immobilized catalyst by adding under agitation a water/oil or a oil/water/oil emulsion of a silane of formula (A): SiR'''4, wherein R'''=CI or R'''=OR and a functionalized alkoxysilane of general formula (B): R'[OSi(R'')(L)]nOR' or LSi(OR')R'2 to obtain the catalyst particles immobilized on silica in the form of a precipitate.
