<p>The invention provides a security apparatus (10) designed for securing a window against unauthorised entry therethrough into at least a portion of a structure to be secured. The security apparatus (10) includes security bars (12) having an attachment portion (14) attachable to the structure (16) adjacent to the window (18) which is to be secured against unauthorised entry. A displaceable portion (20) of the security bars (12) is displaceable between a closed position in which access through the window (18) is inhibited and an open position in which access through the window is permitted. A displacement inhibiting member (22) is provided for inhibiting displacement of the said displaceable portion (20) and having a lockable portion (24) located remote from the remainder of the security bars (12). The displacement inhibiting member (22) includes two inflections (23) and (25) so that, in use, said member abuts against the structure for portion (27) of the member (22) and serves as a displacement inhibition means.</p> |
