The container (1) for the dispensing of a free-flowing medium has a hollow needle or spike in the screw top for penetrating a membrane. An inclined face is provided in the screw top (8), and a holder (10) is provided for the needle (11). The holder has at least one protrusion (18), whereby the protrusion and inclined face in contact run off one another in such a way there takes place a conversion of the rotational movement to open the screw top into an axial movement of the holder in an in-use end position.
