BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL BAT

The invention relates to a baseball and softball bat which is made from wood, aluminium or any other material. The inventive bat is provided with a hand grip which is disposed next to the lower end or knob and which comprises a grip area that can be produced when the bat is being manufactured. Said grip area, which enables the bat to be rotated more naturally, consists of a series of parallel ridges or grooves which are spaced out from one another in a uniform, angular manner. In this way, the hand grip area of the bat increases the static friction coefficient and, consequently, the frictional force at the moment at which the ball is hit with the bat. The inventive bat enables the batter to improve his/her batting score and to gain more confidence when in the batting zone. The length and depth of the aforementioned grooves comply with the requirements of the professional baseball rules in force in the major leagues.
