A halogen-labeled gene therapy construct that includes halogen labeled nucle ic acids, methods for preparing a halogenated gene therapy construct, and metho ds for in vivo imaging of the same. Also provided are methods for non-invasive drug detection in a subject using a labeled antibody that recognizes a heterologous antigen conjugated to, encoded by, or otherwise associated with the drug.
