The present invention produces an unsaturated compound (Formula 2) useful as a fluororesin starting material and the like by using a compound of the Formula 1 as a starting material. That is, the present invention provides a method for preparing a compound expressed by CRbRc=CRdRe (Formula 2) such as CF3CF2CF2OCF=CF2 by pyrolyzing a compound having at least one partial structure expressed by -COOCF2CRbRc-CXRdRe (Formula 1) such as CF3CF2CF2OCF(CF3)COOCF2CF(CF3)OCF2CF2CF3, wherein Rb to Re are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent organic group unchangeable by pyrolysis reaction.
