The protective disc is inserted in the optical axis of the headlamp and provided by a polarization filter combined with a plastics protective disc, for filtering the incident light so that it is polarized vertically and perpendicular to the road surface. The polarization filter can be fixed behind the plastics protective disc for providing a single unit
