A stent comprises a plurality of circumferential bands. Circumferential band s which are adjacent one another are connected one to the other. The circumferential bands include first circumferential bands characterized by a first number of alternating first peaks and first troughs joined by bent struts and second circumferential bands characterized by a second number of alternating second peaks and second troughs joined by bent struts, the secon d number different from the first number.
