A protective film (I) for the transport of motor vehicles comprises a protective layer and a bonded polymeric adhesive layer whereby the polymer of the adhesive layer contains a photoreactive ultraviolet(UV)-cross-linking initiator that at least partially reacts at wavelengths not occurring in nature and is at least partially cross-linked by UV-irradiation.
