PURPOSE: A method for injecting gas of a shock absorber is provided to make gas injection possible even if the diameter of an oil seal increases by closing an injection hole through first curling and to improve the reliability of a shock absorber by enhancing the sealing performance. CONSTITUTION: A base shell(1) is transferred to a gas injection jig and clamped via a fixing unit. The upper end portion of the base shell is sealed by using the gas injection jig. A gas injection hole(10) is placed between a rod guide(6) and an oil seal(7). While the oil seal is supported on an oil seal press bar(21), gas is injected to the as injection hole. The upper end portion of the base shell is firstly curled while the oil seal is pressurized by the gas injection jig. The upper end portion of the firstly curled base shell is secondly curled.
