PURPOSE: A proxy settlement system is provided to accelerate the turnover of capital by making the card settlement of a non-card holder and the cash settlement of a non-cash card holder as making an article buyer and a card payer different with each other. CONSTITUTION: Affiliated store terminals(313-317) are equipped to each affiliated store. A settlement server(303) provides the personal information and the article buying particulars information of the buyer to the first affiliated store terminal by receiving the proxy settlement request information from the first affiliated store terminal according to a buyer's request, and receiving the personal information and the article buying particulars information from the second affiliated store terminal. The settlement server(303) respectively provides the proxy settlement approval information to the first and the second affiliated store terminal by receiving and responding to the payer's settlement approval information from the first affiliated store terminal.
