Current consumption of the entire device including a display unit is reduced in a communication state. A control unit (18) of the mobile radio device outputs a control signal to an LCD drive unit (19) to drive an LCD (15) for the display control. When in a communication kept by a radio communication unit (17), a message expressing the state such as IN CONVERSATION is displayed in characters of the color of the ON state in the background of the color of the OFF state, for example, in white characters in the black background on the display screen of an LCD (15). Moreover, only the area for displaying the state is turned ON and the other area is turned OFF, thereby, performing partial display. This partial display reduces the current consumption of the LCD (15). |
