NIVALENOL AS INHIBITOR OF TRANSCRIPTION ACTIVITY OF TRANSCRIPTIONAL FACTOR C-MAF AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME

PURPOSE: The new use of nivalenol as an inhibitor of transcription activity of c-maf as transcription factor is provided. The nivalenol inhibits a TH2 immune response by inhibiting the activity of a c-Maf transcription factor and the pharmaceutical composition containing the nivalenol can effectively treat disorders associated with Th2 cells. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treatment or prophylaxis of Th2 cytokine-related diseases comprises a pharmaceutically effective dose of nivalenol as an inhibitor for the activity of IL-4, especially via c-maf transcription factor inhibition, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The Th2 cytokine-related diseases are allergic disease, cancer or infectious disease. The infectious disease is HIV infection, tuberculosis, leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis or nematode infection.
