<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prompt a user to positive exercises by exciting user's spirit of rivalry. <P>SOLUTION: An exercise supporting device provided with a cycling machine 1 having pedals 11b and a rotation sensor 11c for detecting the motions of the pedals 11b is provided with a monitor 14 for image display, a means for storing image data presenting a course and a competitor character, an exercise machine control means for variably controlling the load state of an electromagnetic clutch 12b of the machine 1, a means for successively updating and controlling the advancing position of the competitor character on the course, a means for calculating the virtual present position of the user on the course from contents detected by the rotation sensor 11c and the load state controlled by the excercise machine control means, and an image display means for displaying the course and the competitor character on the monitor 14 and displaying the degree of difficulty to overtake the competitor character. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
