PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stabilized amides very stable and not causing such a trouble that the amide polymerizes when the amide, such as acrylic amide, is produced, stored or preserved, and capable of being given as an aqueous solution thereof or a crystal thereof. SOLUTION: The stabilized amide contains a sulfur-containing compound and a salt of a weak acid. The amide preferably comprises an unsaturated aliphatic amide. The sulfur-containing compound is ordinarily contained in a concentration of 1-100 ppm based on the total weight of the amide. The salt of the weak acid preferably comprises a salt of an organic acid having a dissociation constant of 3.5-5.5 and is preferably contained in a concentration of 1-3,000 ppm based on the total weight of the amide.
