Filter material is folded into a zigzag shape between the tooth-like profile of the tool halves(1,2) and is held along the long edges by a clamping area. When the tool halves are fully closed the clamping area gap(7,17) in the arc area(32) of the upper(9) and/or lower(10) folds of the filter material may be either smaller or larger than the gap(8) between opposing flanks(11) of the tool peaks and troughs. An Independent claim is also included for a filter cassette for fluids whose clamped filter material thickness in the peaks and troughs is greater than or smaller than the thickness in the flank regions. Preferred Features: The smaller clamping gap(7) is produced by flattening the base(33) of the troughs on one of the tool halves. The larger clamping gap(17) is produced by flattening the peaks of the tool teeth. |
