<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device for an outboard motor reducing shock or noise when changing over forward and reverse. <P>SOLUTION: In the clutch device 2 for the outboard motor, a driving gear 13 is attached to a lower end of a driving shaft 10 rotating in an interlocked state with a crankshaft of an engine, and a gear 14 for forward and a gear 15 for reverse rotating in mutually opposite directions and constantly meshed with the driving gear 13 are rotatably journaled to a propeller shaft 12. A hydraulic clutch mechanism 16 for forward connecting and disconnecting a power transmission path between the gear 14 for forward and the propeller shaft 12 is provided on the power transmission path, and a hydraulic clutch mechanism 17 for reverse connecting and disconnecting a power transmission path between the gear 15 for reverse and the propeller shaft 12 is provided on the power transmission path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
