PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door for automobile with reduced weight and improved occupant protection performance. SOLUTION: A door inner panel 11 of the door 10 for an automobile is a magnesium alloy die cast product. An occupant protection cover 51 is superposed and fixed to the parts of the inner panel 11 facing seats or the vicinity. The occupant protection cover 51 is made from an aluminum alloy which is tougher than a magnesium alloy. The door inner panel is made from a magnesium alloy, reducing the weight of the door. The structure is capable of preventing deformation of the parts of the door inner panel 11 that face occupants, and plastically deforming the other parts to absorb collision energy.
