PURPOSE: A system and a method for registering a user and storing the user information of a digital copier are provided to make the user easily use a complex function of the digital copier by granting an ID and a password to each user, and registering and storing the information fixed by the user in the digital copier. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a scanner controller(10) reading an image of a manuscript and converting the image into a digital image, a system controller(20) processing the data of a printer, the network, and a scanner, and managing the whole system, and a printer engine controller(30) carrying out the control to print the final printing data to the printer. An operation panel(40) for enabling the user to fix and manage the digital copier is linked with the scanner controller(10). The user fixes and carries out a desired function according to a displayed menu by using an operation key(42) and a touch screen(44) of the operation panel(40). The system controller(20) includes a hard disk(25) to realize a document management system for temporarily storing, editing, and modifying a lot of images.
