<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method and treatment apparatus capable of making medical wastes treatable as ordinary industrial wastes and suppressing the generation of hazardous substances, such as dioxins, in incineration treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The medical wastes are sorted to incombustible wastes, such as metals and glass, plastics and combustible wastes, such as pathological wastes. The incombustible wastes are subjected to pasteurization and sterilization treatment by using hot water and are taken out. The combustible wastes are subjected to hydrothermal treatment by a hydrothermal reaction under subcritical conditions and the solid phase and liquid phase formed by the hydrothermal treatment are respectively separated and taken out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
