<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove even a substance written onto a recording medium, e.g. a paper, by means of a writing instrument and adhering to the surface of a reversible recording medium with high adhesion strength surely up to a level causing no practical problem. <P>SOLUTION: A cleaning section 40 is provided in an image rewriting unit comprising an erasing section 11 or a recording section 17 where a thermal recording medium 100 having a reversible recording layer 102 varying the state reversibly is subjected to erasing or recording processing by touching a heat roller 12 or a thermal head 18 thereto. At the cleaning section 40, surface of the thermal recording medium carrying a cleaning sheet 45 is pressed, at the edge thereof, by a member 41 pressed through a pressing mechanism 43. A substance 100a written onto a recording medium, e.g. a paper, by means of a writing instrument and adhering thereto with high adhesion strength can thereby be removed effectively from the surface of the thermal recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
