PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an adhesive for fiber and rubber, having good adhesiveness to the fiber and the rubber and giving little process troubles caused by excess viscosity, adhesive residues and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing the adhesive for fiber and rubber includes a para-chlorophenol/resorcinol/formaldehyde co-condensate (A), a rubber latex (B) and an initial condensate (C) of resorcinol/formaldehyde. The parachlorophenol/resorcinol/formaldehyde co-condensate is mixed with the rubber latex (B) and the mixture is aged. The initial condensate (C) of resorcinol/ formaldehyde prepared by aging resorcinol and formaldehyde having 3-8 wt.% sum total solid content at 25-35°C for 4-8 hours is added to the mixture after it is aged.
