PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight reel cardboard having sufficient strength as a reel cardboard, suppliable at a low cost, easy in disposal treatment and recyclable because of being made of paper. SOLUTION: This reel cardboard is a multi-ply board having a 700 g or less basic weight and a 0.75 mm or more thickness. The cardboard is characterized by manufacturing its surface layer by using only chemical pulp prepared by mixing at least 20% of conifer-based chemical pulp, or pulp prepared by including mechanical pulp and/or one or more kinds of used-paper pulp in it, and by being manufactured by using a paper board with its weight ratio of the surface layer to the entire layer set to 10% or above.
