PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and robust roll receiving means having a low water-absorbing property, facilitating the cleaning of stain, excellent in damping capability, needing a facility investment amount smaller than that of injection molding and totally and sufficiently satisfying required performance of the receiving means without causing corrosion or without having anisotropy in strength, and to provide a roll unit using it. SOLUTION: The roll receiving means 12 for installing and supporting the roll 1 in a suspended form by catching both ends of its central core 2 on both sides of the roll 1 is formed of foam polyolefin made by a bead method.
