PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traverse control method of a yarn winding machine capable of restraining vibration of a traverse operation part generated upon traverse inversion, and of forming a package having good quality and a good unreeling property even in fast winding with multiple yarns with an inexpensive device structure. SOLUTION: The total of a deceleration time and an acceleration time upon traverse inversion is set to an integral multiple of the cycle of vibration in the traverse direction of a traverse operation part.
