PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure further rapid sideward motion of carrying rollers and to protect a device for shifting the carrying rollers from contamination and mechanical interference. SOLUTION: For this device, a mechanism for the device 27 for shifting the carrying rollers 1 sideward with respect to the carrying direction of a paper sheet and a mechanism for a device 28 for transmitting rotation to the carrying rollers 1 are disposed in a pipe 2, the carrying rollers 1 are mounted to the pipe 2, and a means for correcting the positions of the carrying rollers 1 and for compensating the height difference thereof in a pile without strain is provided.
