PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure strength of a pillar sufficiently and improve the welding property of a panel constituting the pillar and the assembly property of a trim covering a flange part of the panel. SOLUTION: A vehicle room R side of the pillar 2 is formed by a pillar inner upper panel 3 and a dash side panel 4 arranged on the vehicle room R side below the panel. An upper panel 3 and a side panel 4 are overlapped in an intermediate part of the pillar 2. A vehicle outside O side of the pillar 2 is formed by a side body outer panel 5 and a reinforce 6 arranged and overlapped on the vehicle room R side of the panel. The flange parts are formed on both sides of the upper panel 3. A cutout part 7 is provided in a part of the panel forming the flange part on one side, and the flange parts of three panels are welded in the cutout part 7. The flange part of one panel is welded in front of the flange part on the other side. The flange part on the other side is formed by three panels. A shield glass 8 is bonded to the flange part on one side, and the trim 11 is engaged with the flange part on the other side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
