PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external composition inhibiting the degradation of adenosine monophosphate or a salt thereof, and stably containing the adenosine monophosphate or the salt thereof, especially the external composition in a weak acidic to neutral region. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by formulatingα-hydroxy acid (e.g. citric acid, malic acid, glycolic acid and tartaric acid) or a salt thereof in addition to the adenosine monophosphate or the salt thereof.
