PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block toy and a block toy set made of a material suited for an infant playing. SOLUTION: This block toy is provided with one and the other plate parts 6 and 7 formed of corrugated boards 9 and 10 respectively and an intermediate plate part 8 formed by fixed between one plate part 6 and the other plate part 7. One end of the intermediate plate 8 is positioned toward the other end sides of respective one end sides of the one and the other plate parts 6 and 7. A recessed groove 15 is formed of the inside surface in one end side of one plate part 6, the inside surface of the one end side of the other plate part 7, and the end surface of the intermediate plate part 8 into an approximately the same width of the wall thickness of one and the other plate parts 6 and 7. Corrugated sheet parts 11, 12, 13 and 14, which are alternately formed with recessed strips and projecting strips having the length orthogonally to the length direction of the recessed groove 15, are formed in the inside surface and the outside surface of one plate part 6 in a part forming the recessed groove 15 and the inside surface and outside of the other plate 7 formed by opposed to the inside surface.
