PURPOSE: A width adjustable seat device is provided to eliminate pressure to be applied to the hips of the user, and to provide ventilation effect thereby creating more convenience seating posture. CONSTITUTION: The width adjustable seat device comprises a pair of seat sections(21) capable of moving away from each other, a pair of movable plates(24) mounted at the lower surface of the seat sections, respectively, a base for supporting the movable plates, a rotating shaft(26) mounted at the upper surface of the base, a width adjustment mechanism(27) mounted at the middle portion of the rotating shaft and having a pair of tapered leading grooves(27a), a driving device connected to the rotating shaft, a pair of connection portions(30) coupled to the leading grooves, respectively, and a guidance member for guiding the axial movements of the movable plates on the base.
