PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently process ACS operations. SOLUTION: A digital signal processor is constituted of a storage means 1 for storing path metrics, a storage means 3 for storing branch metrics, comparison means 5 and 9 for inputting two path metrics and two branch metrics and for comparing newly generated two path metrics, addition means 6 and 10 for inputting two path metrics and two branch metrics and for newly generating two path metrics, selection means 8 and 12 for inputting compared results by the comparison means 5 and 9 and two path metrics which are the output of the addition means 6 and 10 and for selecting and outputting one of the compared results, and storage means 7 and 11 for storing the compared results of the comparison means 5 and 9.
