PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head structure for reaching high track width accuracy and a manufacturing method regarding a laminated magnetic head. SOLUTION: A track regulation groove is disposed to obliquely cross a metal magnetic layer. A metal magnetic layer surface and a gap surface are set orthogonal to each other, and the metal magnetic layer of the back side is formed thick. Thus, track shifting is prevented, and highly accurate tack width magnetic head is produced in high yield. A reduction in a reproducing output made in accordance with narrowness of the track width is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
