PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deformation element allowing a graph of deformation path vs. deformation force to adapt to necessary conditions therefor. SOLUTION: This deformation element, particularly the deformation element used for automobile, comprises a first base part 10 and a second base part 12. The first base part 10 comprises at least one projected part 14 starting to converge from the first base part 10. The second base part 12 comprises at least one recessed part 16 converging from the forward side face of the second base part to the rear side face and is related to the projected part.
