PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition wherein a rubbery polymer compound and a laminar inorganic compound are uniformly dispersed, a process for producing the rubber composition, and a molded rubber obtained from the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by a process comprising the step of preparing a mixture by mixing a polymer dispersion comprising a dispersion of a rubbery polymer compound such as an acrylonitrile rubber with an inorganic compound dispersion comprising a dispersion of a laminar inorganic compound such as a swelling mica, and the step of recovering a rubber composition from the mixture by using a cationic substance and a polyvalent metal salt to solidify the rubbery polymer compound and the laminar inorganic compound together. The obtained rubber composition has a low degree of shrinkage on crosslinking, can give a flat sheet, and exhibits a sufficient reinforcing effect, so that it is suitable for a vibration-damping material or the like.
