PURPOSE: A road sign using solar cells and light-emitting diodes is provided to increase the visual effect of road sings and automatically recognizes the outer luminance by a micro controller to decide whether turn the light-emitting diode on or off. CONSTITUTION: The operation of road sign using solar cells and light-emitting diodes is composed of: an illuminant sensor(40) recognizes the outer intensity of illumination and according to the result, giving signals to a micro controller(50), therefore during the daytime, the system is set to a charging mode to absorb sunbeams, then the sunbeams are changes into electrical energy and accumulated to a storage cell(30) for the night time use, or dark time. The energy is consequently sent to a light-emitting diode to light up the luminous sheet of a fixing board with backlight, at this time epoxy resin mixed with dispersing agent illuminating like a lamp increases the visual effect of guide signs to be well recognized by people near by.
