<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a write-once/read-many type high-density optical recording medium allowing high-speed recording and to satisfactorily form a space between recording marks especially. <P>SOLUTION: A recording layer 18 of a high-speed write-once/read-many optical recording medium 10 is constituted by laminating first and second subsidiary recording layers 18A and 18B each of which essentially consists of one metal. When laser light is radiated to the recording layer (laminated recording layer) 18, main component metals contained in the first and second subsidiary recording layers 18A and 18B are diffused and mixed by irradiation, and a recording mark which has had the reflection factor unreversibly changed is formed by this mixture. In this case, a power level P1 lower than a read power is kept for a prescribed time T1 after the laser light for forming the recording mark is radiated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
