<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of a toner packing phenomenon in a waste toner recovery path in the case of using low-temperature fixing toner. <P>SOLUTION: When starting image forming sequence, exposure by an image exposure means is started as soon as or earlier than the application of the electrification voltage by an electrifying means is started, and the exposure by the image exposure means is stopped as soon as or after the most upstream part of an area on an image forming body opposed to the electrifying means when starting the application of the electrification voltage reaches the image exposing position by the image exposure means then the application of the developing bias voltage by a developing means is started as soon as or within a specified range before a part on the image forming body existing at the exposing position in the instant of stopping the exposure reaches the developing position in this image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
