<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric surface for exhibiting superior sensitivity to the light of a wave length area of 250 nm to 320 nm, and capable of excellently performing gate operation, and a photoelectric conversion tube using this photoelectric surface. <P>SOLUTION: An image intensifier 1 has a window material 4 for passing the incident light, a backing film 5 formed in the window material, and a photoelectron emitting film 6 formed on the backing film 5, and including Te and alkaline metal. The backing film 5 is formed by including Ti, and thereby exhibits the superior sensitivity to the light of the wave length area of 250 nm to 320 nm.
