PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas processing method which purifies the graphite particulates contained in the exhaust gas from an engine.

SOLUTION: The method and device for processing the exhaust gas from the engine include a plasma generator installed in a passage for the exhaust gas from the engine for generating plasma, whereby the nitrogen component of the exhaust gas is turned into plasma so that nitrogen dioxide is produced, and graphite particulates in the exhaust gas are oxidated and combusted.
