<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for converting the data on the level of ATM and IP between the BTS and BSC of a mobile communication system. <P>SOLUTION: This data converter is equipped with an LIU which connects data with the BTS, a physical hierarchy processor which receives data through the LIU and performs physical hierarchy processing, a UTOPIA switch (SW) which performs switching for the conversion and transmission of the ATM data from the BSC and the data from an IP BTS, a data converter which converts the data to a UTOPIA SW into DATA in AAL0 hierarchy and the data to an IP BTS into Ethernet (registered trademark) data, a repeater which transmits and receives data between the IBBTS and the data converter, a UTO PIA mapper which UTOPIA-interfaces the data from the UTOPIA SW, a hierarchy converter which converts the data from the UTOPIA mapper into data in AAL0 or AAL2 hierarchy, and a controller which controls the action of the hierarchy converter, the UTOPIA mapper, and the UTOPIA SW. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
