PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of reducing deflecting power, a manufacturing cost, and a heating quantity, and capable of improving a grade of a display image displayed on an image screen, and a cathode-ray tube device having this deflection yoke. SOLUTION: This deflection yoke has a pair of saddle type horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b having an almost truncated pyramid shape, a magnetic substance core 34 having an almost truncated cone shape, and a pair of toroidal vertical deflection coils 32a and 32b. A midpoint CL(M) of the total length CL running in the tube axis Z direction up to a diametrally small part 34S from a diametrally large part 34L of the magnetic substance core 34 is positioned on the diametrally small part 30S side of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b from a position separate by a distance of 0.41×HL in the tube axis Z direction with a diametrally large part 30L of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b as a starting point when the total length running in the tube axis X direction of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b is set to HL.
