PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a substituted thiazoline in a high yield as compared with conventional technologies and capable of performing by an industrial scale for guaranteeing that the production can be performed with a simple reaction means. SOLUTION: This method for producing the substituted thiazoline is provided by performing a reaction of (S)-α-methylcysteine hydrochloride expressed by formula (1) with a 1-4C alcohol, a mixture of≥2 kinds of 1-4C alcohols or the 1-4C alcohol and an aromatic or a hetroaromatic nitrile expressed by Ar-CN (wherein, Ar is phenyl, naphthyl, ethynyl, pyridyl or quinolinyl group substituted with a substituent as the case may be) in the presence of 1.5-3 moles of a third base at 6.5-10 pH and at 50°C to a refluxing temperature to obtain a corresponding thiazoline expressed by formula (2), and separating the compound by removing the solvent, extracting impurities, and acidifying for precipitating thiazoline from the reaction mixture.
