PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk reproducing apparatus capable of recognizing a tree structure meeting the intention of a directory developer in the shortest time. SOLUTION: This disk reproducing apparatus comprises a stored-information table developing means which retrieves direct-line directory information in the highest priority and, if no sub directory exists, retrieves the nearest collateral directory information in the next priority, sequentially adds a retrieval number to a stored-information table corresponding to the retrieved directory, and develops the stored-information table, and a means of reading files controlled in the corresponding directory from the disk and reproducing a disk.
