PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material composition for weatherstrips, effective for suppressing the swelling of the weatherstrip, free from dissolution with a cleaning liquid for the weatherstrip and the emission of odor and especially suitable for the combined use with the weatherstrip.

SOLUTION: The sealing material composition for a weatherstrip contains a 4C olefin polymer having an average molecular weight of 100-60,000 and an oxygen-containing diluent having a solubility parameter defined by (MPa)1/2of 15-35.
