IMAGE CORRECTING DEVICE, IMAGE READER, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correcting device the user of which can execute correction while appropriately controlling the balance between the correcting speed and correction picture quality when the user corrects a scanned image by selecting the processing mode most suitable for its purpose.

SOLUTION: The user selects a desired mode from among a plurality of processing modes for deciding the priority order of the processing speed and correction picture quality for correcting a scanned image read from a book original brought into contact with the upside or downside of a scanning surface (S4-S6). Then the user corrects the scanned image in accordance with the selected desired processing mode (S7-S10). Since the user can correct the scanned image by appropriately controlling the balance between the processing speed and correction picture quality for the correction of the scanned image by selecting the processing mode most suitable for its purpose, an easily operable image correcting device can be provided.
